What are Liberica & Excelsa?

Hai loài/biến thể quý hiếm bên cạnh Arabica và Robusta — ít hơn 2% sản lượng cà phê thế giới, có tiềm năng mạnh với biến đổi khí hậu và thị trường specialty.

Two rare species alongside Arabica and Robusta — under 2% of world coffee, with strong potential under climate stress and for specialty buyers seeking difference.

Coffea liberica

Cây cao (có thể trên 10 m), lá rất to, cherry và hạt dài lệch đặc trưng. Hương vị thường mô tả: gỗ, khói nhẹ, trái nhiệt đới / mít chín, body dày, hậu vị dài. Chịu nhiệt và sâu bệnh tốt hơn Arabica — phù hợp vùng thấp, nóng ẩm như Tây Nguyên.

Tall trees (often 10 m+), very large leaves, elongated and asymmetrical cherries and beans. Cup profile often described as woody, lightly smoky, tropical / ripe jackfruit, full body and long finish. More heat- and disease-tolerant than Arabica — suited to low, warm, humid zones such as the Central Highlands.

Coffea dewevrei (Excelsa)

Thường được xếp cùng nhóm Liberica. Hương vị có thể sáng hơn, đôi khi tart / trái cây, dùng trong blend specialty hoặc lô đơn nguồn để tạo khác biệt. Liberica.net xác minh cả C. liberica và C. dewevrei trong mạng lưới.
